With a background in finance, sales and marketing Robert joined Todd Meats in 1989. In 1992 he bought his first shareholding and became a member of the board. In 1999 he became the majority shareholder when he took on the position of Managing Director.
In 2009 Robert oversaw the transformation of Todd’s from a depot operation to a trading office, and currently oversees all aspects of Company business, as well as trading daily with suppliers and customers alike. He always tries to stay true to the mantra of remembering where Todd’s has come from whilst focusing on where the business is heading.
With an account management background Laura joined the company at the tender age of 19. As the Company has grown, so has Laura’s position. She now oversees all of the Todd’s accounts on both sales and purchase ledger, as well as controlling all of the Company’s financial responsibilities.
Simon entered the meat trade via Smithfield college where he attained for an Institute of Meat and Royal Society of Health qualification. Over the proceeding 16 years he worked within the industry gaining in-depth knowledge on all sales across the species. He joined Todd’s in 2001 as a trader, and took on the position of Director in 2006. Aside from the robust customer base Simon has cultivated, his technical knowledge is a great contribution to the team.
Bill’s first foray into the meat trade was for a beef importing company trading out of Smithfield Market in the 1960’s. Over the past 50 years, Bill has worked in all aspects of the meat trade, giving him considerable knowledge of the industry.
He brings to the team a wealth of experience, gained over the years, especially within the processing sector. He has watched the industry evolve and change, and has adapted with it.
Dudley is the newest recruit to the Todd’s team. With a BSc Hons in Policing and Criminology, he really did ‘hit the floor running’! Over the past 5 years Dudley has studied and learnt all aspects of the meat trade, and built a solid customer base. His youthful and unique perspective on this established industry contributes a refreshing dimension to the Todd team.
Initially Peter joined the industry in 1970 as an accountant working for a specialist Pork cutting/manufacturer in Glasgow. Over the next 35 years, as the company grew and underwent several mergers, Peters position changed and he was responsible for developing sales and brand awareness. He joined Todd’s in 2006, to develop the market in Scotland, and his depth of knowledge of his local market has proved invaluable.
Ian joined Todd’s in 2002, working in the cold store, and went on to gain is heavy goods licence. When the Company made the transition to trading office in 2009, Ian was the ideal candidate to handle all of the out-sourced logistics. His eye for detail, combined with his on the job experience of logistics makes him a valuable asset to the Todd’s office.
Helen joined the company in 2003 and is a wearer of many hats at Todd’s. She is responsible for the day to day running of the office as well as dividing her week between credit control and marketing. She is also the company’s trouble shooter.
